The Resurrection of Juicy Couture

The triumphant return of the Juicy Couture tracksuit is finally upon us. Juicy released a fall ad campaign featuring 21 fashion it-girls who discuss their first tracksuit in celebration of the brand’s 21st birthday. Juicy Couture was an iconic staple in early 2000’s fashion, sported by the likes of Britney Spears, J-Lo and Paris Hilton. The brand had trouble staying relevant after its initial success with tracksuits and has been generally regarded as a fashion faux pas ever since.

The revival of the now infamous Juicy tracksuit can be largely credited to their recent collaboration with fashion powerhouse Vetements. Juicy joined the ranks of big name brands like Manolo Blahnik, Levis, Comme des Garcon and 15 other brands in Vetements recent SS 2017 ready to wear collection. Vetements is famous for twisting the conventions of generic clothing styles and the collaboration with Juicy is no different, designer Demna Gvasalia took the iconic rhinestone encrusted velour tracksuit and twisted the popular silhouette into a selection of styles including a ball gown.
