YSK: What you wear has an effect on people & the planet.
An estimated 90% of today's cotton clothing contains toxic substances that have been linked to environmental destruction and health hazards from a local to global scale.
While conventional cotton farming uses harmful chemicals such as glyphosate, organic farming and traceable processing methods can ensure you're wearing garments safe for you and our environment.
With the wellbeing of people and the planet at the heart of our mission, the Frankie team recognized the need for clothing created from organic materials. That’s why we crafted our Sweat Set from 100% Traceable Organic Cotton, and worked tirelessly to achieve the GOTS Certification.
What is GOTS Certification? It’s one of the toughest and highest international standards of textile production certification. It limits the use of toxic bleaches, dyes, and other chemical inputs. |

Every part of manufacturing is traceable and accountable. It all begins with organic farming, which has been proven to have major environmental and social benefits. But GOTS goes far beyond verifying the organic farming process to include every step of manufacturing. To obtain the GOTS label, a garment must: → Contain at least 95% organic fiber
|
|
Harmful substances are prohibited. GOTS prohibits a long list of chemicals commonly used in textile production for environmental or toxicological reasons, including flame retardants, endocrine disruptors, heavy metals, PFCs, formaldehyde, and more. Beyond the strict chemical restrictions, GOTS also requires environmental management plans and wastewater treatment. |
Traceability that starts at the farm (and continues throughout every stage of production) ensures a safer garment for consumers and a healthier experience for the working communities who handle these items.
In short, traceable organic cotton ensures your clothing is:
💚 free from irritants & safe for sensitive skin
🐝 free from all pesticides & insecticides
🌱 free from harmful herbicides
👩🌾 supports fair trade & safe working conditions
This way, you can be sure that your clothing has a minimal negative impact on you and the earth.
