There once was a time where women had to solely reply on buying Men's streetwear clothing. Although the streetwear scene has been male dominated, there have always been women behind some of our favorite brands like Supreme, Nike and the Hundreds.

We here at Frankie Collective are all about supporting streetwear for women, made by women, so here are the top four women's streetwear brands that are doing exactly that.

MISBHV

The MISBHV brand was born when design duo Natalia and Kate started printing t-shirts for themselves and their DJ friends who run big parties in Poland. MISBHV is known for its progressive take on streetwear and is all about independence, self-confidence, and individuality. The duo considers themselves to be quite hedonistic when it comes to life, valuing strong women and sexuality. No wonder celebrities such as Rihanna, Jourdan Dunn and Cara Delevigne have been spotted wearing MISBHV.

DIMEPIECE

DimePiece LA was co-founded by duo Laura Fama and Ashley Jones. By using strong and empowering slogans alongside cult graphics, the brand has earned them celebrity fans such as Miley Cyrus, Rihanna, and Nicky Minaj. Dimepiece pays homage to the city it was born in; personifying street wear's objectified attitude, and its legacy of resistance, as well as providing an influential voice for women’s evolving role in society. Dimepiece venerates the fresh space Los Angeles provides for their global youth, alongside its ungentrified neighborhoods that keep Los Angeles street culture alive and authentic.

HLZBLZ

Designing previously for Rocawear and Triple 5 Soul, Lanie aka Miss Lawn launched HLZBLZ in 2005. For nearly 10 years, HLZBLZ has paved the way for bold fashionistas. Influenced by all things subversive, from the old school gritty streets of NYC to Cali's neon pavements where summer never ends.  HLZBLZ continues to pay tribute to our liberators of the "bra burning 60's", supporting the idea of female empowerment by adding a little spice to traditional femme silhouettes resulting in bold statement pieces with street sensibility.

THIS IS A LOVE SONG

Founded by Stephanie, THIS IS A LOVE SONG aka TIALS popped up in the scene in 2010 as a store and a line of basic tees. Since then the name has developed into a full line of womenswear. The collections are inspired by music and fuses streetwear and girly pieces. (You might have seen Major Lazer dancers twerking in the outfits). Named Streetwear brand to watch by Harpers Bazaar, it is no wonder that the pieces are loved and worn by the likes of Ellie Goulding, Azealia Banks, Tinashe and FKA Twigs.
